Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the deck or any combo deck for that matter. It's not that hard to between your main deck and your sideboard to have 10-20 cards that interact profitably with the deck.Īmong the decks I've played against these decks seemed to have a reasonable/good time against it:Ĥc uro (no black) Has difficulties vs lots of blockers or life gain and instant speed removal because they only have a few turns to win depending on the version you're playing.Īlso your deck can have a nearly as fast clock decks like amulet titan, hammer time and others can also have their busted draws where they win by turn 3 the deck is not in a speed class of it's own. Blood moon is OKAY versus the deck if you can turbo it out but is not reliable without other interaction for their artifacts. Interact with their lands: make them slow, you can strip mine them over and over again with things that normally make them search up basics in game one and in games 2 and 3 it's a mind game because their combo is much worse if they bring in the basic and you don't blow something up. Restricting to 1 spell spell per turn - the new 3 drop flier in taxes is a good example they can't get back the vengevines through this.Īrtifact destruction can slow them down or sometimes disrupt their combo depending on the situation and the quality of the player sometimes you can take out the artifacts they need to play the salvage titan before they pick it up probably generally better to not count on it and instead attack 8 of their 12 sources of fast mana to slow them down. Here probably pithing needle is the go to, but meddling mage, sorcerous spyglass and the like work too. Named lockouts make the deck much worse too: NOTE: you probably want to name the Salvage Titan here but other things can work. Loses to artifact shut down- Karn into Crypt is a death sentence for the deck if you can power it out or disrupt them enough, but Collector ouphe or Stony Silence works these shut out all their acceleration and a main part of their combo with salvage titan. You're better off with versions that don't target opponents like rest in peace, surgical, or soul-guide lantern if not that. Loses to graveyard hate ESPECIALLY Leyline of the void imo is the best if you're looking to hate out this deck, because it even beats the versions with the back up oracle plan and a lot of the decks are playing natural state which misses it. Okay, see here's the thing, it's not just hand hate and counters, though that already describes tools a large portion of the meta game has. I’m saying that forcing overcommitting sideboard slots or expecting the most overrepresented colors to just continue being dominant does not a healthy format make. I’m not saying the deck is impossible to beat. Third is “play relic or spellbomb or cage.” Ok these can be played more broadly, but you’re likely packing 3ish and because of their ability to play things like Nature’s Claim you need 2 pieces of interaction in the first 2-3 turns. Ok so just play black? Second is “play counter magic or bounce spells”. Most commonly people say “play hand hate”. The problem is I don’t think that’s the case. Either way, it doesn't seem fun for anyone involved.ĮDIT: so I’ve gotten a lot of “you can interact with it so easily” comments. I guess the best parts are the games are over quickly. Either I have two graveyard hate pieces or they do the thing on turn 3-4.
